Isn't it possible the router doesn't know how to route the inbound request from the internet IP? Most/all routers have a configuration interface accessible via a browser. If you can get to the configuration, make sure that port 80 is open, and that the router is forwarding the request to the ma

I have some difficult users, who want to just type in a partial URL (in this case "tracking") as the URL and be directed to an app that is located on a server with a DNS entry tracking.domain.com. I suggested setting a browser bookmark, but was rebuffed. Browser is IE6, if that makes any differe

Hi everyone, I have a server that has a dns alias, and has a lot of content (read blog/wiki) that might reference the dns name as part of the urls embedded in the site. I was wondering if I can use mod_rewrite to rewrite the request to the new server so I don't have to go through the existing c

Hi everyone, I'm not clear on this basic issue, and I'm looking for someone to clear it up for me. If I have Apache 2.2.6 installed and configured, and I need to upgrade to 2.2.9, can I do that with the patch command, or do I need to actually download the new binary? Running on solaris under a
