I am trying to use mod_deflate module on apache 2.
my httpd.conf contains sthe following.
LoadModule deflate_module modules/mod_deflate.so
SetOutputFilter DEFLATE
BrowserMatch ^Mozilla/4 gzip-only-text/html
BrowserMatch ^Mozilla/4\.0[678] no-gzip
BrowserMatch \bMSIE !no-gzip !gzip-only-text/

I want to use the caching techniques at client side.
And read something about HTTP STATUS CODE 304. Please give some
suggestions to store the static content like images, js, css ..etc to
improve the website performance using apache.

yep that is right.. how can we achieve subdomains if ISP is holding the
DNS?
no way other than requesting them for subdomain and pay them?

for example i have the domain registered on my name as www.abc.com
can i configure a subdomain like blogs.abc.com?
for that i need to register for that domain or we can achieve this with
apache?

I am pretty much new to Apache. Earlier was working on IIS where creating
websites thru UI is a bit easy.
Please help me to create multiple websites, which are hosted on same
computer (means with same IP address but different domain names) each domain
should point to different folders so that
