Thanks for that bug and the elaborate explanation. Without ever patching
source code before, I was able to patch, compile and test it all
successfully!

and received a LDAP_INSUFFICIENT_RIGHTS not defined error so I simply
commented that out. Make, make install and now you get a second chance.
