Windows XP is notoriously bad with "install" & "uninstall". I've had
NUMEROUS errors occur with that on my current build due to some "special
tricks" I had to do by accident with my several user accounts on my machine.

This reminds me of a bug in Excel: entering a number as text it keeps
displaying it as a concatenated number (um, some scientific notation that
shortens it's length, I'm 46, I forgot my math, ok! ;-) ) until the field is
"touched" by clicking on the edit bar and hitting return! Format as text

I have installed 'open office' on my computer using windows XP and I
can not find it in the START -All Program. Menu. There is no Icon on the
screen either, but I'm not sure if there should be. I can see that the

I have just started using Open office 2.0. My problem is that I am used to
starting Word, PPT etc from an icon. I currently open a file from Explorer
and then it opens Writer etc. Is there a way to have icons for Writer,Calc
and Impress etc, on the desktop?
