I don't believe you can assign shortcut keys to individual special
characters. However, you can assign a shortcut to bring up the special
characters selection table.
I've formatted a column in a Calc .ods file to contain dates in DD/MM/
format. What happens, unfortunately, is that if I enter a date
for up to the 12th of any month, Calc formats it as MM/DD/.
Example: I want to enter June 13, 2007, so I type in the cell:
"13/6/07" or even "13/6".

Thanks for the help. I think I need to stick to Outlook for now.
Hopefully there will be a way to synch Thunderbird with Windows Mobile
2005 Outlook in the future, or even put Thunderbird on the handheld.
This is really important for completing the office solution.

Thanks so much for all the help! I'm glad I wasn't just seeing things ;-)
Really impressed by this experience, it's really an eye-opener after the
usual kind of "support" from commercial apps.

Hi,
I'm using OO 2.0.4 and I setup the Writer Mail Merger E-mail Dialogue with my
Name (Lívio Cipriano), E-Mail ([EMAIL PROTECTED]), etc. But when the e-mail
arrives to the receivers, in the From field, only my e-mail

Hi,
I just downloaded OpenOffice 2.1, and I tried to import an HTML file into a
presentation slide:
a) Insert -> File
b) select foo.html
c) I then get a dialog with the title "Insert Text"
d) click OK --- the text content from the HTML gets added, but all HTML
formatting is lost.

Interesting! I can't really remember doing any rescaling once the image was

I don't think it is possible to easily change background

Thank you both for your help. Fixing column headings is solved. I've used

a) The document is very simple : only one large table (13830 rows) ; no
graphic, link, field nor section in the document.
b) This is not a OS resource issue : enough memory, no hard drive or network
access, no conflict with an other process...
The problems occurs on all OS i've tried : W2K and
