I am attempting to install OpenOffice 2.4 for powerpc macs.

I have downloaded through FireFox twice to check download OK.
Equipment MiniMac with Mac OSX 10.4.11 with 1.42 ghz and 1gb ram, with plenty of disc space.
X11 installed.

On the first time OpenOffice opened with no problems and a letter was typed and printed with no problems and I was impressed.

two days later I returned to OpenOffice and tried to open, but failed as the window opened,but although the tool bar was there all menus and text was unreadable.

I have uninstalled, re downloaded and reinstalled but end up with the same. Each time during installation, "Do I want to use Mac Fonts" has been asked,which I confirmed. I have an Imac with Leopard and use version 3.0.0, which I must say is impressive with touch wood, no problems.

I am perplexed where in FAQs for macs states that version 2.4 should be used up to Mac OSX 10.3.0 and no later,but on the download site vers 2.4 is recommended for powerpcs. Should I try version 3.0.0 on a mini mac?

Any suggestions appreciated.
