Well the New OOo website is now a day old and the OOo release of 2.4 is a
shorter than that. A new Web site hand in hand with a new OOo version. There
the absolute latest and your one of the first to use both in mint condition.

Not That I use the features of impress much but he mentions 3.0 will allow
multiple monitors for impress.

Your Daughter will be able to open all her previous Microsoft Office Files.
The ones that have a *.doc/*.xls/*.ppt file extension. If your Daughter
starts using Microsoft Office 12 (a.k.a Microsoft Office 2007)
She is going to have to save any documents she want's to use at school or

Unfortunately you would need to download the entire file (100meg) again.
If your updating from v 2.2 just running the file and having it install over
the existing installation is fine

Unfortunately The entire bundle has to be downloaded, however you can just
install the Writer module of the package by using the custom install rather
than the full/fast or express install. On the next screen you can tell it to
install only writer (make sure the other modules show a red X beside t

I just tried to download OpenOffice 2.2 following the link from the

But Chose to cancel the download
The Download page states for windows 93 MB and I assume thats OO w/out JRE
(ie it's the same size as many other previous releases) but the link when I
click downloads
There Was One.
It ended up being rather long Summary of the 2.2 Announcement
OO 2.2 released
OO 2.2 Main Feature Improvements across all platforms
OO is also A Community
Ended up looking a bit of A PR Press Release Statement

While I think the whole community would like to see you complete step 4 it
is not neseccary to remove MS Office Immediately.
OpenOffice and MS Office can reside on the same machine.
If they're both on the same machine you may not want OO to load (open) MS
format files by default.
Just choose to
different formats I also would like to know how make a
copy of an OpenOffice
Base File that can be shared with Microsoft Users.

Writer creates documents/letters, Newsletters. It is
Like MS Word
Calc used for calculations, budgets, Numbers. It is
Like MS Excel
Impress used to make presentations. It is Like MS
Power Point
Internet/Web browsing Firefox ha

despite it having a
setting transfer step in the installation and you may
also need to download any
foreign language dictionarys you may use (if you use
languages other than U.S
English) as these also did not seem to transfer
across)
You should be impressed with
I have updated from OO 1.1.x to the current 2.0 And I
think this new version is
Great.
I would like to know if it is possible to recheck a
word using the spell checker
in 2.0
In 1.1.x there was a handy icon to indicate is the
word was spelled correctly
and you could put in various spellings an
t had
appeared as wonderfully in all its glory.
Making these details I've just given redundent.
So I think you can dismiss this

This is how the new website appears in Firefox 1.0.3

Hello Bashar
I don't think there is anything wrong with your settings of Firefox.
Firefox renders HTML and XHTML closer to the W3C standards than IE does.
