I select all (CTRL A), select the specific columns, or select the range of
cells, the Sort function under Tools is greyed out. Saving the file, closing
and reopening didn't help.

Want ideas for reducing
I installed OpenOffice 2.3.0 for Mac OS X. I was able to open a
couple of files. Then, I exited. Then, when I tried to open a file
again, it just blinked for a couple times and would not start any more.

I am using Mac OS X (Tiger) and have x11 installed.
Downloaded the latest Open Office 2.2 and followed the instruction,
dragging to the Application folder.
Once I double-clicked the OO, it does not fire up. Nothing happen. I
can't quit OO although I can quit x11. I need to force-quit OO

now I truly regret it. If I uninstall Openoffice will I lose all of the files
that now show the Openoffice icon?

You have made me madder than hell at changing all my WORD documents to that
stupid OPEN OFFICE Crap! How do I get my documents back into the original file
extensions that I had them in?
