Well, assuming you are using Version 1.1.4 try cleaning out the system /tmp and
the Windows TEMP directory and restarting OpenOffice before you go further.
I remember this happening before but I think it was with an older version.
Rob Winchester

save the final version in different formats (in this case xls) there
are some version control issues that sometimes come up and the Excel or Word
user might see things you don't want them to see - like typos.

However, one thing I strongly advise:
Save your files as an OpenOffice file (with a different name until you are
done editing and then save as .doc (or what ever format) as a new file.

Download OpenO
You just add fonts (copy the font files right in) to the windows font folder.
I think you will have to restart OpenOffice to pick them up however. There is
also a "font replacement" table - looking under Options if thats more along the
lines of what you want to do.

Well, Im not sure why this would be... However, you can use "setup /repair" for
reset the file associations (on windows). Also in your browser you can change
the settings for the html viewer... under IE its the 2nd to last on the right
tab.

Try cleaning out the /tmp directory (with OOo closed). Also, see if you can run
1.1.4 if possible since a bunch of little things where fixed.

Have you checked the settings in Tools->Options-> Text Document -> Formating

Actually, I wonder if you can get what you need by changing the settings f
give you a decent version of the .dll:

Otherwise you can search through the windows 95 install .cabs.
Hope this helps!

if you have some Office files left you might be able to find the license key
with a call to the PC vendor or the MS Office number (see the office website).

et to empty the trash after you delete the files (edit->Select All, then
press Delete).
You may also have conflicting .dll files in your path. Make sure
c:\windows\system32 is the first thing in your path not last or elsewhere (
this path is in c:\autoexec.bat for windows 98).

Celebrate Yahoo!'s 10th Birthday!
Yahoo! Netrospective:
I think this is because your Windows 98 box has some older DLLs... I don't
remember the one (right now anyway)... maybe its MDAC? Anyway, try the
windowsupdate site through IE (windowsupdate.microsoft.com) and have it install
any updates you might be missing.
Rob Winchester

On other thing:
You might want to try Alt-Tab first... there might just be a hidden prompt in
the background. This sometimes happens when a file is saved as .doc (or other
non-OOo format) and OOo warns about loosing some formating.

fice. Try different Zoom sizes when things
just don't look quite right first. Its not 100% buts its fairly good and when
you setup some formatting options its really amazing how great the files will
look.

BTW, The registry changes don't change the .dll. The changes tell it that its

If you really want to work on the memory use goto tools -> options ->
