Just moving over onto a more recent version of Mandriva (2008.0), and have
copied my Documents folder over, so using Writer 2.2.1 instead of 2.0.3.

But there is a weird problem with fonts. The first I knew about it was when
I edited one of my documents. The text appeared in the wrong fonts.

Then I realised that fonts in general were not behaving properly.

For example, using the Bradley Hand font in Writer 2.0.3, in the Fonts List
the name Bradley Hand shows up in its own font, whereas under 2.2.1 it does
not. Furthermore, - under 2.2.1 - if I change some text to Bradley Hand, the
changed text does not change to the Bradley Hand appearance.

As an experiment, I deleted the 2.2.1 Fonts directory and replaced it with
the 2.0.3 Fonts directory. No difference; the fonts still do not appear as
they should.

This suggests that the problem does not lie with the fonts themselves, but
with the way Writer 2.2.1 uses them.

I have never come across this before, neither with Mandriva nor with SuSE 9.0.

Could someone throw some light on this, please?

Maurice
