I have written a how to for this, however on the save as dialog box under where you type a filename there is a pull down option list title allowing you to change the file type, select MSword 97/2000/XP from the list, you may then get a warning about losing formatting, i just say yes to tell

I don't understand how OpenOffice could have invoked Microsoft Office Test Drive. Maybe you tried to convert from a file icon? Open the file in question with OpenOffice. Then use the save-as commands (as previously described) to save it in the Microsoft doc format of choice. The Microsoft Office t

Thank you. I did that first off, but I have the Microsoft Office Test Drive on my new computer, and it pulled that up to do the conversion, so I wondered if it would still have that capability if I do not have Microsoft Office loaded? Please excuse my ignorance about what goes on in the bac
