I'm a heavy outliner and I've yet to find a decent outlining app for Linux. I just read this quote: "Outlining [in Writer] is solid and very similar to Word 2003, only its more customizable with acute positioning, character, and graphics options. Still, this is one of OpenOffice.org weaker points
