It *may* be that you have accidently turned off the Automatic spell checker. At the top of the OO window there's a row of icons (buttons). One of them has "ABC" underlined with a wavy red line. This button turns on/off the automatic spell checker. If the button is white and contained in a box th

hi helmut this will seem a bit obvious, but what is the language you use to create your documents in? maybe you have the spellchecker set up for say German and all the documents you receive are in German, but you use English for your documents. happened to me before, too. go to Tools - Options...

I have Openoffice 1.1.4. My auto-spellcheck is turned on but it will not work on new documents I create. It only works on MS Word documents I import from other sources or authors. Can you suggest a fix or setup change to correct this problem. Thanks, Helmut Kron
