I've been very successful with Virtual Box.
Strangely enough, I use it for those sad times I have to use Win. It can
be run very stably with less resources, linux too. I use it to test out
other linux distros too. It's free and easy. Make sure to install the
user extensions (it should ask you).

I'm under way to get a used AM3+-machine, so I can make a testinstall
