That's exactly what I'm saying (though it's Web services in general,
not the SOAP spec specifically that's the problem).
Web services are non-scalable because the complexity of a system with
arbitrary interfaces is far too high. It's a complete show-stopper
unless you control both ends of the interaction, in which case it's
just a lot more work than is necessary.
