Thanks Jean, understood on the CGI.
I was actually thinking of using check_ping, but I'll poke around for it. Is there a subproject to write everything as a py script? That would make running on Windows a little easier I would think. I'm doing both Linux and Windows right now. My main goal is to monitor our 100+ clients, both locally (for our clients use) as well as centrally on our server so that we can glance at all of our client states. We do have a few Windows clients (Oracle Apps runs poorly on Windows, as it's really written for Unix flavors). Shinken's multi-platform nature really appeals to me. == John == John Gwinner | Director of Technology DAZSI /Oracle Business Applications 310.640.1300 (office) | 310.640.9900 (fax) 880 Apollo Street - Ste. 201 | El Segundo CA 90245 [cid:image003.jpg@01CC269F.E1C9B510]<http://www.dazsi.com/> From: nap [mailto:napar...@gmail.com] The "don't use" is more an advice than an order :) You can use it, but it's just slow and not user friendly, that why I think it's far better to use other tools. In fact the only plugin that use it is the check_ping for a html output that will call traceroute.cgi. So I think if this value is mandatory, you can put whatever you want, it will have no impact for you :) Jean
