This has been a problem for a long time, that's why the following line had
been added in the requirements section

"Python >=2.4 (>= 2.6 for the Web interface)"

I agree the requirement should evolve with the software and Python 2.6
seems a very reasonable choise, but don't forget that Shinken is proposed
as an alternative for Nagios with very little change.

If people have to migrate their production server in RHEL 5 to RHEL 6 to
get basic Shinken working, I feel that this is somewhat less true : in my
last job, I proposed Shinken as an alternative and I had to get python26
along with native python 2.4 of the production RHEL 5.4. This is not
impossible to do, but neither is it trivial. I don't know if I am an
exception, but I have a lot of RHEL 5 running and I still need a few RHEL 4
for some dusty software that no one knows how to upgrade.

Last thing, Shinken works like a charm in python 2.4 if you don't use the
WebUI (I couldn't sell it to my boss, but then it was the early
development).

So in short, I wouldn't be shocked if minimum was set to 2.6 because it
will solve a lot of problems, but don't forget the admins that are stuck
with old production servers ;-)
