NATO COUNTRIES READY FOR MILITARY INTERVENTION IN MACEDONIA

According to British sources, NATO member countries, in spite of all, are
getting ready for a military intervention into Macedonia. The plans of the
military interference are, first of all, being hatched by Germany, as Great
Britain has reportedly promised to take part in it, The Daily Telegraph
says. According to the newspaper, British special-purpose squads are already
operating in Kosovo’s southern areas adjoining the Macedonian border,
clearing the way for the NATO forces to enter the republic.
Although, NATO Secretary General George Robertson denies any plans of a
military intervention in Macedonia, British commentators insist there are
such plans. According to The Guardian, the above-mentioned NATO intervention
is just a question of time, although it is yet unknown whether the Americans
will take part in it, and, if yes, in what way.

“Violence in Macedonia can only be stopped by decisive actions by the NATO
forces,” former NATO Supreme Allied Commander in Europe General Wesley Clark
has told the German newspaper Die Welt. “If we behave in a constrained
manner and turn a blind eye to the escalation of violence in Macedonia,
there will be no end of wars in the region,” he emphasized.
