Ok, I have been practicing this stupid trick for a while, and since I have
never seen or heard of anyone else doing it, I thought I would brag and show
off and make a posting about it here.
On a decent wind day here at the blowhole on Maui, I can now consistently
land my DAW Me109 by hovering it backwards and inverted for a hand catch. It
saves wear and tear on the airplane. :)
I have 3 (sorta) sequential pictures posted here. The three shots were taken
on three different catches, but they convey the idea. Sorry for the lousy
quality, they were taken with a disposable camera on an overcast day.

I also have the inverted catch on video on mini VHS and will hopefully
figure out a way to extract the segment and convert it to .avi or .mpeg
format soon. There is also a segment on the tape where my left foot gets
caught under a large rock just as I am reaching for the catch, and I end up
on my a$$ and the plane hits the ground and bounces straight into the camera
lens... I might post that eventually too. Maybe.
