Just spent some time looking at the Parker Mountain F3F pics
(http://www.gliderking.com/race/parker.3.10.01/index.htm).  Nicely done.

I noticed all the fastmovers had traditional external (presumably draggy)
linkages.  Wouldn't the drag reduction of RDS be significant in maximizing
the speed potential of these planes?
