The blue dot is present, so I guess this is a newer one.  I have contacted
Horizon and been informed that their turn around is 5-7 days.  It's going
out tomorrow via Priority Mail.

Yes its a known issue.

Flip yours over.  If there's no blue QC dot on the case its one of the
original versions (short antenna, less selective filtering); send it in!

I have one of these.  Lousy range and lots of jitter *until* I sent it in to
Horizon's service center.  Upon its return I installed it into my Wizard
HLG, and have subsequently flown it to the limits of my vision with no
problems.
