Sorry Dan, my error. I see "red" whenever I read "UPS". 

The postal services between our two countries is pretty good compared to the 
alternatives. In fact, if the value is less than $50CAN, it gets a free ride to 
our door.

NAFTA ensures that the paperwork going in either direction is similar, so it 
should be no more difficult to ship something north than it does south. The 
problem is on our end, as on top of the 7% customs and duties, there is another 
7% Goods and Services tax thanks to our wonderful Canadian government, then 
come thosee "special" charges from the gougers like UPS.

Add to this that our customs dept is poorly staffed to accomodate the volume of 
material crossing into Canada, and it makes for some rather colorful 
conversation from recipients across the board (from us modelers - to the rather 
large shipping operation of our GPS products at work).
