So this lens creates a flat and continuous projection along the plane of
the underside of the roof?   Agree that you don't need a sprinkler in
the skylight ... unless you consider the space above the lens to be a
combustible concealed space.

 I have a project where the skylights are more than 32  sq.ft. in area
which normally

would require sprinkler protection, my project has a translucent panel
attached at the roof

line sealing off the skylight thus eliminating a ceiling pocket.

 

My thoughts since there is not a ceiling pocket then sprinklers would
not be required for this

type of skylight.

 

Any opinions?
