This should be put back to the architect or engineer for guidance. When we’ve piped exhaust through combustible construction and if I remember correctly it did require additional clearances.

We have done sprinkler designs for quite a few CLT buildings now, but we have our first one which requires the diesel engine exhaust to penetrate the timber wall. A relatively small engine - Lister Petter LPWT4. Our standard requires a sleeve design so that the surface of combustible material shall not exceed 70°C. (158° F) The exhaust pipe is 60mm (2.4”) I am aware of the design in NFPA 211, but looking for something more practical than a 460-660mm (18-26”) hole through the wall. Can anyone help/point me in the direction of someone who can assist with this? Thanks in advance.
