nasty it was...it involved a self-referential dependency sort and a
lone many-to-one relationship (your example has both aspects to it;
Parent has a self-referential relationship to itself since Child1
points to Child2, and those are both Parents).

so its fixed in changeset 2077, also linked off of ticket #360.  thanks
for the good test case.
