once again, i'm afraid the results are the same. i'm beginning to come to the 
conclusion that NoSuchMethods are a little tricky to troubleshoot.

OK, for grins, start removing the JAR files that weren't originally
present in the string-examples web application one by one, to see if
its removal resolves the problem, or alternatively, create a copy of the
string-examples.war file with a different name and try to access the
sample JSP of that application.
