Just pitching in here - hope it's Ok,
what they often do on private trackers with ratio is to give hourly
points based on
how many torrents you are seeding (not based on speed) but based on
number of torrents you have active,
and also allow to pay X for double points for X time, or simply pay to
get X GB added to your ratio.

This is often cheap, so for a user it's not a bad thing.
