It does it earlier since it processes the mail before TB! get's it.
I've tried the plugin and all it really does is alert you that a
message is infected, providing you with the message sender and
subject. TB! continues to download the message and place it in the
inbox or respective folder a filter places it. You will then have to
find the message and delete it or whatever.
