Position: Lead Greenplum Consultant Location: San Mateo, CA
Duration: 6+ Months Rate: Open Description: Immediate opportunity for a talented Operational Data Warehouse DBA to join a team of software professionals on supporting Greenplum Database, a massive scale parallel database. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for the overall health, maintenance, and performance of one of the largest databases (hundreds of terabytes to multi-petabyte systems), including 24x7 remote support. Required Skills: * 8+ years IT industry experience and 3+ years DBA experience supporting production DWH databases. * Expert knowledge in one or more of the SQL flavors and relational database design concepts. * Experienced in supporting OLAP / BI-DW workloads in a multi-Terabyte environment. * Oracle Greenplum Training Experience * Experience with large scale, massively parallel, shared nothing database architectures (Teradata/Netezza/ Greenplum etc.). PostgreSQL background - a plus. * Understands data warehouse concepts, practices, methodologies, and architectural approaches. * Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly; document issues from production problems, propose solutions and implement them. * Knowledge of Linux & Solaris 10 operating systems and scripting language. Scripting skills in Perl/ Python/ MapReduce - a plus. * Good verbal and written communication skills. * Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Computer Science/Information Systems Engineering.
