Sandy, I agree with you whole heartedly. I don't usually don't wish bad things on anyone - especially auto imune diseases and problems - BUT I bet there would be legislation zipped right thru if all of congress and the President had just one immediate family member that would be helped by stem cells. Since abortion is legal AND unwanted frozen embryos are just discarded - why shouldn't that "life" be used to save and/or help others - that's what I don't understand about organized religion - but I've always said that there were more deaths that occur "in the name of GOD" .

Could be wrong. I favor the beneficial use of donated embryos because I feel that its just like any organ or tissue donation. I was on the national registry for bone marrow donors even before there was a national registry. Of course an auto immune thing and TM meant I am no longer a suitable donor. But I think a couple should be allowed to donate any unwanted embryo as living tissue and that can be used in research and treatment. Of course I admit---I have a bit of a bias. Having suffered the consequenses of TMIC for the last 3 years, and having been dismissed by a neurologist considered one of the best in the county if not the best, my only hope for all of us is the passing of HR3. I'm not terribly savy on the computer, does one of you kow do I access those congressmen? I would like to ask them if they feel so sorry for embryos, and consider stem cell research murder, what do they think happens to them when they are discarded? They're dumped, trashed, aren't they? Evidently it is somehow enhancing or boosting the immune system or something like that? Not sure and I plan on reading more about it. Ten years ago there wre a bunch of people dayly on the net with all kinds of questions. The good sign can be that doctors now know so much more over TM that the people have the most answers they need already for TM. The fact that they don't need this group to communicate about this subject and with there problems, can mean that they have people around them for support. Internet is faster, people have learned to Google, more info is available, still I have my doubts.....
