Hi Candy, I will also keep you in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this "challenge" with our very close friend, TM. I have been taking Cymbalta for 3+ years and find that it really helps with the neuropathic pain as well as acting as an antidepressant. I have had some relapse issues since Thanksgiving and my neuro has increased my Cymbalta from 60mg to 90mg - for the pain. (I have Sjogrens also, so have Recurrent TM - also testing for Devics) Don't be afraid of the Cymbalta - I hope it works well for you. I hope you get the OK on the cruise. Go for it! (I think my cruising days are over - nothing outside the U.S. I'm told) As Patti said, hopefully you over did it and you need to rest your body, give it time to bounce back. Please let us know how you're doing.

Candy, I'm so glad to hear that you neuro saw you and scheduled the MRI. He sounds great! Being an exbanker I like the 5% concern rate. He talks my language. I'll pray that nothing new is found and that you just tired yourself out. He says at this point that he is 5% concerned about a relasp, seeing as how the last MRI showed the C4 - T1 area was not better but it wasn't worse. And, this is the area that I'm complaining about now - the neck and shoulder areas. > > So, he ordered a MRI w/wo contrast of that area. I must say that Cymbalta, at this point, helps much more than the Zoloft and Hydroco with the depression and neuro pain. I hope that I don't have any adverse problems with Cymbalta because it does seem to help. I was also surprised that he only prescribed 30mg 1X a day. However, I am to take my Zoloft along with the Cymbalta for the first week. > > My neuro also warned me that the next time I have dental problems, especially another tooth pulled, to have the dentist call him. I told my neuro that I didn't even think of calling him because I had been in my "norm" and this is the first time I've had to have anything like that done since TM struck. > > My neuro wouldn't talk about my planned cruise saying that until we figure out what was going on, he would not give his blessing. Did you get a flu shot. I did and I almost died from it with pain and memories of the first time I was hit. Please let us know what he says. Reacurrant TM is rare ,they say but I think my flu shot gave me mine back. I feel all the old tingling and pain. And I was fine before I took that shot. I won't take another one.
