In server.xml use: <Listener className="org.apache.ajp.tomcat4.config.ApacheConfig" append="false"/>
inside either a host definition or a context definition. Inside a host definition you will get a virtual host block, inside a context you will get the Jk* configuration parameters. For me the configuration is written in $TOMCAT_HOME/conf/auto/mod_jk.conf.
