I think I've got it: I've replaced /usr/bin/ld, /usr/bin/sparcv9/ld,
/lib/libld.so.4, /lib/sparcv9/libld.so.4, /lib/liblddbg.so.4 and
/lib/sparcv9/liblddbg.so.4 with versions from snv_99 (easily accessible
from an older BE). I'll let you know if I find any problems with that
workaround.
