In 10.10 the internal speaker still outputs sound when speakers are plugged in, and I can't figure out for the life of me if there's any way to turn it off--it gets rather scratchy if I turn up the volume in order to use the external speakers at a relatively high volume. I've tried the sound preferences from the sound applet, Pulseaudio device chooser, and Gnome ALSA Mixer, but to no avail (this really could be a user problem btw). I'm using 10.10 beta with all the updates installed Pulseaudio is 1:0.9.22~0.9.21+stable-queue-32-g8478-0ubuntu17 Thanks.
