After reading this thread, I've switched to PCM decoding and... what a difference! No placebo effect here; definitly an improvement. The sound is now richer and more 'solid sounding' The bass has improved significantly; drum kits now sound 'weighty' and solid. This Touch thingy is beginning to out-perform my (expensive) Naim CDX2 CD-player, which is worrying.
