Your points are valid, but for most (not some) people TinySC with an attached 2.5" USB drive will work without a problem. I can scan 8,000 FLAC files in under 30 minutes on the 1st scan (to build the database) and 5 minutes when re-attaching the USB. I can access the USB remotely on my Laptop and can add new FLAC's or edit tags without ejecting the USB from the Touch. The only issue with a USB drive is that most 2.5" drives will need a separate $8 ac/dc adaptor. You only need SBS if you need any of the items (i.e. > 100 song playlists ) listed on http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Squeezebox_Touch_as_a_Home_Music_Server#Limitations If these limitations don't effect you, then there is no need to run your PC 24/7 or to buy a separate Plug Computer or PC Appliance. My advice: If you're going to buy a Touch (I'm very happy with mine), try it first with a 2.5" USB with an ac/dc adaptor. -- Tony T Tony  SBTouch ♪ SBRadio ♬ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Tony T's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=34544 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79212 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
