Gazjam, I've come to this a bit late. A few points: 1) "More info" only shows what SBS thinks the bit rate will be based on the file on disk - not what it is transcoded to. You can ignore it.
2) flc flc transcode * This entry is only used when the sample rate is greater than the capability of the device - 96k in case of the Touch. You should leave this line alone. It will convert 192 to 96 and 176.4 to 88.2 3) You don't need to worry about "24-bit". All 16-bit files are converted to 24-bit as they played within the Touch. 4) If your DAC cannot display sample rate, you need to set the player.source debug setting to DEBUG in Settings - Advanced - Logging. Then you can look at server.log after playing afile to see what it TRIED to do.. 5) if sox.exe is not visible in Task Manager when a file is playing, then NO transcoding is going on and the file is replaying at its native sample rate. 6) This works fine for me... flc flc * * # FT:{START=--skip=%t}U:{END=--until=%v}D:{RESAMPLE=-r %d} [flac] -dcs $START$ $END$ -- $FILE$ | [sox] -v0.95 --buffer 32768 -q -t wav - -t flac -C0 -3 -c2 -r96000 - polyphase -cutoff 0.99 -- Phil Leigh You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it ain't what you'd call minimal...
