I'm inclined to think that this will never work with large hard drives. It wasn't designed for that purpose. It certainly should be possible though. This is within the technical ability of a mid noughties PMP and shouldn't be difficult. What these threads show is that a lot of users want to do this and it should be higher up in Logitech's priorities.
