Thanks for the mod John. I came across the cap bypass and toolbar mods just the other day after owning my touch about 2 months and i'm very pleased with the results of the mods. My display is not working after putting it back together so i am expecting just the ribbon cable came out but i'm not in a rush to fix it since it is supposed to sound better without it. I snapped a picture of jumper job using some capacitor leads. The soldering part is not that bad if you have experience soldering and you have a fine tip soldering iron and a steady hand. Getting the cables back on is another story considering i did not know they were hinged and i pushed them off like laptop display connectors. Hopefully the latch is ok.
