I blew it and wrote a correction.   I meant to say  that these were NOT "subsitutes" for sacrifical offering.   I have slowed down and am doing a more thorough job of proof-reading, but I missed this.  

My point I hope is clear  ---   the Hebrew writer is saying that there is only one way sin is forgiven  -------------------------   sacrifical offering.   Truthfully, I just saw this when I was preparing that post.   This explains the existence of sacrifical offerings in times of pre-law. And it eliminates all other activty    -------------   save the "once and for all time" sacrifice of the Christ.
