The book contains an appendix covering SQLAlchemy, and Active Mapper. There are some basic instructions for updating an SQLObject based model to use SQLAlchemy. So there is come SQLAlchemy coverage, thought I will admit that there's about three times as much SQLObject coverage. But SQLAlchemy also has great online docs, so I wouldn't be afraid to use it at all.
