This has ostensibly been a shaky week for the Kasem shows.

The broadcast version of the '70s countdown was the landmark show from
June 1973 when Billboard, whence the show's charts came until the '80s,
started using its new computer to compile charts, resulting in some
rather wild movement among many of the songs. Casey needed to repeatedly
'splain the situation, but much of the 'splainin' was cut from the
repackaged version for time or some other unspecified reason. AFAIK this
is the first time this particular show has aired in the current format,
which began in 2007.

And meanwhile, a substitute announcer had to be brought in, who never
identified himself (one poster on the fan boards thought he was the guy
in the GEICO ads) - lately the classic shows are introduced by Casey's
son Mike, former MTV host - I wonder if the news of AT10 and AT20 ending
reached Casey just as he was about to record his lines for those shows
this week, and Mike, instead of doing '70s, had to rush over to fill in
again for dad...
