Two easy ways to spot the Roots when not watching Fallon: Questlove (the lead drummer) has a distinctive haircut and beard, usually with a hair pick.
There's a Sousaphone (a bit smaller than a tuba). I'd pay serious money to see the CBS Orchestra share a bill with the Roots and The Max Weinberg 7. And while I still find Fallon way more miss than hit, his music instincts are probably the sharpest part of his show. Hmm. It's over. Felt kind of sudden.
