“Inside The Mossad” is a four-part Netflix series. I think everyone should
watch the last one for a different historical take on the Camp David accord
and the Iranian nuclear weapons deal.
About 20 years ago I started reading several books on spying, maybe half of
them dealing with Israel. “Every Spy A Prince” is $3 as a Kindle book now.
Well worth it. I think it was my favorite book. The first episode of
“Inside the Mossad” allowed me to put faces to all the names I read in
those books. Israeli intelligence was candid about letting their Mossad
bosses and spies talk.
They have good stories to tell throughout the four episodes, such as
recounting Mossad triumphs, the hazards of spying for Israel by both
Israelis and foreigners and the personal toll it took on spies.
The fourth episode, suggesting Jimmy Carter did not have as big of a role
in the peace between Israel and Egypt, and the discussion that prime
ministers often ignored the advice of the Mossad, was enlightening. It’s
worth your time. Especially the fourth one.
