I was having this exact same problem and tried the couple different things listed above. The one that worked for me was the command:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install --reinstall ubiquity ubiquity-frontend-gtk Here are the steps I took: boot pc with mythbuntu cd made sure I had an internet connection by opening Firefox right clicked on the desktop and clicked Terminal Emulator put in the command listed above answered yes to install question when it finished installing I double clicked the Install MythBuntu icon That is when I noticed an option that was not previously there on the first few attempts. I was asked how many Tuners there would be and what kind they were. The install went great from there!
