Hi Shane, what's the upstream status of this change, is this now the
default in upstream builds?

Changing from "internal translator" to "distro translator" seems like a
possibly major change, what are potential risks associated with this
change?

Is there a test that would demonstrate a typical issue with the internal
translator that we won't see anymore after making this change?
