Public bug reported: Release: Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS 64-bit Firmware: FNCML357.0052.2021.0409.1144 Kernel: Linux 6.8.0-59-generic
Usually, when I turn the computer off and back on, the monitor lights up, telling me it's booting, then asks me for the password to unlock my disk. Then, the monitor turns off, then back on with my desktop. However, when restarting, this is not the case. It turns the monitor off to restart the computer, then forgets to turn it back on, meaning I have to guess which screen I'm on and type my password in the dark. Nothing turns the monitor back on (incl. Ctrl+Alt+F2, Ctrl+Alt+Backspace, going into BIOS settings upon boot, etc.) other than typing my password in the dark, since that causes the monitor to "turn off" (it was already off) then turn back on. This is especially annoying since I'm trying to update my UEFI firmware, which keeps failing. Since the monitor isn't on, I can't see what it wants me to do. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2109935 Title: Ubuntu forgets to turn monitor back on when restarting To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/2109935/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
