We are testing on a PM9000, connected to TTYS3 on our system. I agree the problem lies upstream here. I tried to get them involved as well through the official support line of the company where we bought our screens (they claim they support Linux after all), but no luck until now.
Could you please send me a patched version of the latest drivers? I'm looking forward to test them here, to see if it makes any difference.
