I reported #239413 following the advice above of Andreas Wenning and reported #239706 when I noticed that the scope of the multiple key pressing problem goes beyond the scope of the brightness keys. I think the difference between them is that this one (#207473) and #239413 deal with the power-manager part of the problem (KDE and Gnome, respectively), while #239706 deals directly with the hal problem, which is also affecting the CRT/LCD key.
