Problem solved. You just can close the bug. I have simply removed ~/.xine, then execute "xine" from console, accept default settings, exit xine; then execute "xine myfile.mp3" and voilĂ ! :-)
Of course, amarok is working OK with MP3 files after resolving the problem with xine. I think that all is due to the big amount of updates we have had recently. You can see also: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=833347&page=2 http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=833322 (post #4) By the way, deleting .xine is one of the last things a "normal" user ;-) can think of when amarok can't play mp3 files. I think, IMHO, that some routinary checks should be performed before any update involving media codecs. I can't understand that users don't be adviced to remove old settings when the update is performed (I think that a workaround is not feasible in these cases).
